It still confirms a national soft patch in the established market through June, concentrated in the largest eastern markets, while stock counts continued to grow.\n\nIt sits beside other primary markers already on the beat, and on-site context in Rates vs roofs, market health, and property search:\n\n- RBA cash rate target 4.35%, next decision 2.30 pm AEST, 29 September 2026 (RBA coming up; cash rate).\n- Latest monthly CPI (July 2026): headline 3.5%, trimmed mean 3.6%, both above the RBA’s 2–3% band (ABS CPI). August CPI is due 30 September.\n- On 8 September, the same day as this ABS release, RBA Assistant Governor (Economic) Sarah Hunter held a fireside chat at the AFR Property Summit (audio on the RBA site). Secondary reports of that appearance should be checked against the audio before quoting at length.\n\nNext ABS Total Value of Dwellings release: September quarter 2026, scheduled 1 December 2026.\n\n---\n\n## What this is not\n\nThis piece does not give buy/sell advice, forecast the 29 September cash rate, or treat secondary market commentary as primary data. Figures and wording above follow the ABS publication and media release.\n\n---\n\n## Sources\n\n1. ABS Total Value of Dwellings, June Quarter 2026\n2.
