Median asking price, all listings, by state

How these numbers are produced

Asking prices and estimated yields are computed from listings we track directly, not licensed from a data vendor. Rent is the median of state rental bond figures. Sample sizes are shown next to each metric because coverage varies by state and by field. Vacancy rates, population growth and suburb-level capital growth are deliberately excluded: our upstream sources do not cover them densely enough to publish an honest national figure.
